Why Do Refrigerators hum?
We were set a Summer Project with one sentence; Why do refrigerators hum? I chose to take the slang meaning of "hum" - "smells really bad". So I decided to research into why your refrigerator might smell.
I gathered a lot of information on bacteria. I decided to create my own bacteria by leaving a variety of food outside in a warm cupboard for a while. They all went moldy and were full of bacteria and even maggots. I then photographed the food and changed the colours to create a bacteria plate for each one. The final was printed onto acetate and all the colours were visible through one another.
