Road to Recovery, The Wellbeing Story

Indisplaying the key information of community wellbeing we decided to use the more human, expressive approach of stop motion revolving around the story of acharacter and his experience’s post earthquake; deciding theanimation would follow a story. Our choice of materials reflects thenature of the message we wanted to convey; a raw and genuine warmthto an otherwise cold and serious subject.

We chose to use paper withits creases and imperfections to express the feeling of the story. The paper is effective in portraying the story based feeling, giving it a depth of feeling and a genuineness that would be lackingin a purely digital animation. Our chosen audio adds to thisimpression with the natural, human sounding acoustic music combinedwith the realistic sounds of life on top, it’s effective insupporting the visuals throughout the story.
