Internal promotional material for an advertising agency in Longueuil, Qc. Abeille Communication was owned and operated by Eric J Hughes. These are all done in Photoshop supplied with layers intact, giving John the flexibility to appear in any layout and in a variety of situations and positions. He had a serious face, a smiling face, an hand with each finger held up one at a time (counting). The right arm has him either holding his guitar by his foot (as shown) or with his hand held up to hold a rainbow! Eric was the art director and the person who came up with this promotional idea, I only executed the illustration.
John Lennon in Strawberry fields forever! This is a flyer. This Photoshop file has over 400 layers! I had to flatten the file occasionally due to memory constraints! It was done by using pencil, paper, a scanner, then I inked it all in Photoshop using a Wacom graphic tablet! I had approximately five versions of the flower. Copy paste and flip, distort and fake em out! In this file John Lennon has a folder with all his layers so the graphic designers can move him around in the field.
Detail of Strawberry fields... As you can see it is quite an amount of work. If I recall this image of the field took over forty hours.
Here's a detail of the bee hive on the right. The bees aren't supposed to look real, they're the advertising agency's logo!
