Super Okami World: Design Process
In 2015, I was approached by Okami to create his upcoming album, titled "Super Okami World". It would reference pop culture in different ways relating to the main character, a cartoon avatar of Okami himself. This is the process from initial concept drawings to the final piece.
Concept designs of the album, starting off with a design brief wanting a "DOOM" poster inspiration, hence the pose of the first design. Later being formed into something cuter, with references to pop culture on Video Games as a constant theme.
Most references allude to Nintendo, namely Mario.
References used in the concept process, with an "Okami64" label already created by the client to use in the piece.
Final approved design
Limited physical release information concept. The Album was also released on iTunes, Spotify, Bandcamp, Soundcloud and Google Play.
