My work is about my grandma and her artistic abilities. My grandma used to sew to make extra money during her hard times. I interviewed my grandma to learn how she lived back then as a young Latina woman; I wanted to incorporate how my grandma was a strong and powerful young lady even to this day. I made this piece out of paper mache, acrylic paint,with an addition of photos and a doll that my grandma and I made together. My process through this piece was very successful, a little challenging, but the turnout was great. I made this piece to tell a story about my grandma and her great capabilities.I think knowing more about our ancestors is something that should never be forgotten and hope this information of my grandmother will live on and our traditions will stay.
