A short preview of the project I was working on with my collegue and sound designer Francesca Giua, for the Video Mapping Competition Genius Loci Weimar.
The video mapping retraces the history of the Notembank from the XX century to the fall of the Berlin's wall, with the life of Faust.
Its aim is to display works that can represent the spirit of the location with respect to history and architecture, as well as to the people who were active there and who have influenced the surroundings, and to historical events that have left visible or invisible traces.
In our project the Genius Loci is identified in Joahnn Wolfgang Goethe’s Faust and its figure, as transposed by Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau, leader of the German Expressionism.
