The visualization shows italian abandoned train tracks, collected by www.ferrovieabbandonate.it. Tracks are divided by region and arranged by length, from longest to shortest. For each rail is specified if and how it has been reconverted (bicycle and/or pedestrian path, road, track, ski run); it’s also reported if and how buildings and open spaces on the rails have been reconverted for other purposes (public and social buildings, art buildings, parks).
Moreover, years of railways’ activity are calculated as a regional average.
