Let it grain - The analog experiment

A couple of years ago I completely lost interest in taking pictures. I have made dozens of images per minute with my DSLR and it was a pain in the bum to sort them and to be honest, I rarely did. My camera got covered in dust, then got sold. Recently I wanted to find some excuse to spend some time off-screen, so I have bought an old Canon AV-1. It has no screen, no menus only metal dials and buttons with their reassuring clicks. Exactly what I needed.

I love the procedure of loading the film, the noise what the film advancer makes. You have to think each time you press the shutter because every frame costs you actual money. It certainly didn’t make me any better as a photographer  - I don’t consider myself as one - but gave me awesome walks with my wife or just alone, gave me excitement when the films are back from development. These gadgets supposed to bring joy to our lives and that’s what this cheap old camera did.
