Week 7: Abstraction / Light & Scale

Title: Playing With Scale

Technique: Photography

Process: I piled up some rocks and took a photo on my phone.

Reasoning: I wanted to compare the rocks in the foreground with the mountains in the background and make the rocks feel bigger than they really are.

Reflection: Would've been better with my camera but unfortunately I didn't have it on me at the time.
Title: Playing With Scale 2

Technique: Photography

Process: I took a photo of paper cranes at a museum.

Reasoning: I liked the idea of a flock of birds being represented by paper cranes and it works well with the scale theme.

Reflection: Would've been better with my camera but unfortunately I didn't have it on me at the time.
Title: Playing With Light

Technique: Photography

Process: I set up my camera on my tripod with a long exposure, pressed the shutter and wrote my initials in the air with a torch.

Reasoning: This is the first time I ever experimented with light like this and I wanted to start with something simple.

Reflection: It would have looked better if I had thought about the composition a little more.
Title: Playing With Light 2

Technique: Photography

Process: Turned all the lights off in the room, set up camera with long exposure on tripod. Friend pressed the shutter, another friend and I painted the wings with phone torches.

Reasoning: It was my idea to do wings as I thought it would give a cool effect.

Reflection: More takes on this idea would have left us with a stronger image. Framing it better and being a bit cleaner with the lines would have made the image stronger.
