Seek is a stop motion animated short, featuring the main character, William, as he strolls along a corridor. He is intrigued by the pictures along the wall, and as he stops to take a closer look, he starts wondering as to what their purpose is. The last frame is then a mirror, where he realises that he is different than the others, and rather than putting on a wig from the selection which is readily available, he does things his way and puts a cactus on his head.
The process to create this stop motion project took over 6 months to produce. The steps to creating this animation ranged from character design, to story creation, to fabricating the puppets, building a set, building a custom dolly, testing walking sequences, trying out different materials, and then finally animating frame by frame. Below are some photos of the process taken.
After painstakingly creating everything, the only thing left was to compose the final sequence, which used approximately 2,000 images. Adobe After Effects was used to remove any jittering and to smoothen the whole image. And finally, sound was added and the final clip was produced.
A commemorative photo with all the actors involved.

Seek is a stop motion animated short, created using approx. 2,000 images for my thesis, upon which I was graded a distinction.
