Doggo: TreeHacks 2017
Winner for Hack to Save Homeless Pets
TreeHacks, hosted by Stanford University, was the first college hackathon I ever attended, and I was lucky to meet an amazing team of girls who taught me a lot along the way. In our ideation and prototyping processes, we had access to directors from Best Friends Animal Society and mentors from Google Cloud. This was especially helpful in identifying the best tool to increase the likelihood of animal adoption.

You can check out the prototype and github implementation in XCode from TreeHacks 2017 below, but I'm currently working with a teammate to further develop our concept from the hackathon and bring our ideas to fruition through ideating and iterating. While we are still in the middle of development, here are a few of the updates and our corresponding thought processes as we work hard to design and hardcode our application for Best Friends Animal Society.

My specific role in this project was implementing the Google Vision API in a way such that it would provide users with live feedback when they take images on their mobile devices. This involved a lot of software troubleshooting, but I implemented parts of Google Vision's documentation in Swift for iOS development. My teammates and I then worked to make a functioning app in XCode. It was exciting to learn so much in such a short amount of time and place second in our platform.

See below for a demo of our prototype in action.
