Week Six:
Light and Scale
Day Twenty Six:
The Fall (1) Hanging On
Adobe Photoshop, iPhone 5SE camera

Process:
I set the doll up hanging from my drying rack and put the drying rack against the white wall in my garden. I then used Photoshop to blur out the textured background of the wall and then remove parts of the rack from corners of the photo. I did this by replicating the photo, Gaussian blurring it then masking out the top layer of the photo to show the blurred bits where I want it to be. I used the cloning tool for getting rid of the drying rack.

Reasoning:
A image of a girl hanging from something for her life.

Reflection:
I'm really happy with this, the only thing I'm not a fan of is the masking on her legs. I think the cloning tool worked nicely, and bluring the background made the figure stand out and not be lost in the texture of it. I think it's an interesting piece.
Day Twenty Seven:
The Fall (2) Landing
Adobe Photoshop, iPhone 5SE camera

Process:
Set up the shot and took the photo from above. I had to get high enough and zoom in to prevent my shadow from covering the subject. The doll was quite dark, so I replicated the layer, masked the doll out and then lightened the doll so she was less shadowed.

Reasoning:
The doll has fallen from her hanging in this second set onto soft material.

Reflection:
I'm happy with this. Next time I would make it brighter, and center the doll better. I also wish I had played with the lighting more and made it more interesting on the fur as the fur texture seems to get lost in places.
Day Twenty Eight:
The Fall (3) I Lived
iPhone 5SE camera

Process:
Set up the shot and took the photo from an angle to minimise the background content.

Reasoning:
The doll showing that she survived in the final number of this arrangement.

Reflection:
I'm happy with this. Next time I would make it brighter and remove the background. I also wish I had played with the lighting more and made it more interesting on the fur as the fur texture seems to get lost in places.
Day Twenty Nine:
Study in the Park
Adobe Photoshop, iPhone 5SE camera

Process:
I set the doll up and took the photo. I then upped the saturation and vibrance of the image, as well as altered the curves. I duplicated the image, Gaussian blurred the lower layer and masked certain parts out the background of the image from the top layer to create a miniature affect.

Reasoning:
Photo of girl studying in the park, exactly how I was positioned when I thought of this.

Reflection:
I love this image. I think the tilt-shift blurring works effectively to mimic the miniature affect and creating focus on the figure.
Day Thirty:
Checking Grades
Adobe Photoshop, iPhone 5SE camera

Process:
I set the doll up and took the photo. I then upped the saturation and vibrance of the image, as well as altered the curves. I duplicated the image, Gaussian blurred the lower layer and masked certain parts out the background of the image from the top layer to create a macro affect.

Reasoning:
Checking the grades after studying in the park.

Reflection:
I love this image. I think the tilt-shift blurring works effectively to mimic the miniature affect and creating focus on the figure. I think the colours are effective and strong, and I like the contrasting textures between all three objects (figure, grass and wooden pallet).
Extra:
Forrest Fashion
iPhone 5SE camera

Reasoning:
Here are just some extra shots I used but didn't end up wanting to use and edit properly. It was suppose to be as though she was taking a nature-y photoshoot.

Reflection:
I think they're okay, and in fact used them later on in the assignment. A better camera, upping the vibrance and saturation would have increased their interest.
