3d Skateboard and Ramp Model

      3D Model Skateboard and Ramp

This project was for my CAT - Post Studio Collaboration class. My class had to make two 3D objects using the program TinkerCad. The two objects had to have some type of relationship with each other. Upon completion, we then saved our projects and printed them out using a 3D printer. After cleaning up the objects using a knife and scissors this is the finished product. Now I will take you through the process of making my skateboard and ramp.

                                            TinkerCad
The first step in making our 3D models was creating them using a program called TinkerCad. TinkerCad is a program where you can learn and create a 3D model from your own imagination using shapes and colors. At first, my process was originally going to be a goal post and a soccer ball. But after not being able to get the goal post to look right I scrapped the project and that is what became the ramp. Afterwards, I took 4 circles for wheels and attached them to a rectangle and that became my skateboard.
                                 Skateboard Model
When creating the skateboard I had gained the idea from the little finger skateboards that a lot of people used to play with. They were a real big fad so I decided I would want to make one using a 3D printer. So this became my inspiration and I put it together in TinkerCad. At first, i thought of not making the skateboard altogether because I could not make the board look like an actual skateboard but then I realized that using just a regular skateboard was perfect enough. Once I put the rectangle on top of the 4 circles that became my skateboard design.
                 Ramp Creation
While trying to create my models I decided that since I like soccer I would create a soccer goal and soccer ball. I created the soccer ball but after making the goal post I could not make a net correctly in TinkerCad. I decided to scrap the project and saw that the goal post looked a lot like a ramp. So when I saw this I took an object that closely resembled what I just made and that became my design for the ramp. Now that I had the ramp it motivated me to make the skateboard.
                                          Final Project

If I could have done something differently I would have firstly colored my objects to make them stand out and resemble each other more. Secondly, I would have made the ramp look more like a ramp and maybe made a halfpipe that way it could easily be more identified as a ramp.
