Boat House, Dove Lake, Tasmania.

Taken In the Cradle Mountain National Park the old boat house can be found near the start of the main walk around Dove Lake Walk.

The weather was beautiful and the river still. Unfortunately I only have my old water proof camera for moments like these. It has limited abilities. I am not a fan of black and white but this was too nice a picture. In colour the contrast was far too high and could not be pulled back. But in black and white the high contrast helps highlights the reflections in the water and offers a slight silhouette of the kayak in the water.

These boats are uniquely moored in a small inlet surrounded by the brilliant oranges of the rock and deep blue greens of the ocean.

At the end of a long day fishing the traditional fisherman tie their boats up to their moorings on the Mekong River.

As the sun sets over the dam near at the entrance to the Myall Park Botanic Gardens the stillness of the water beautifully reflects the trees and the colours of the boat. Judged for display at the 2018 85th Wilmington International Exhibition.
