MODE Soundworks Amp Pedal

MODE Soundworks, an amazing group of guys with a clear product vision.
Instead of traditional plastic pedals, we chose to use spring steel. With our expected lower volumes this was a cost effective and innovative solution - not to mention pretty darn sexy.
Stainless steel end plates have 1/4" cable clips to effectively manage wires. Free cable management is a good deal.
In the end, an amazing product that regretfully never made it to market. Thanks to the team for a wonderful experience.
Working on the GUI was the most fun! I love figuring out what to do when you have limited pixels to work with.
One colour + low resolution + complicated processes = absolute design bliss.
A variety of graphic treatments were explored to try and find the look that resonated best with consumers.
The board and internal workings of the product. It's always a joy figuring out how everything comes together.
The PCB is the heart of the product. Once it's clearly understood and effectively designed, the product can begin to take form.
Instead of a traditional sheetmetal enclosure, we decided to leverage all of the advantages of an aluminum extrusion.
A nice little side view section of how it all comes together.
It's always exciting to see the prototype come to life. It's even more exciting when it fits together as expected.
A very special thanks to Mark Edey at Edey FX for all the help and amazing work.

MODE Soundworks Amp Pedal

Product and GUI design for the AMP Pedal. My team took this from concept to prototype before MODE unfortunately scraped the project.
