PÅ ISEN
På Isen: A Swedish phrase meaning “on the ice” is also the name of an audience immersive app that my fellow students and I designed for Bandy fans. Bandy is one of the most popular sports in Sweden. It’s very similar to hockey but at an even more break-neck speed. Instead of a puck, they play with a red ball and instead of the rink being 12,000 square feet, its 77,000 square feet.
THE CHALLENGE
Arenas that host Bandy games are massive, with a capacity to house not only a 77,000 square foot rink but over 3,000 devoted fans. No wonder it’s hard for some attendees to see and remain engaged with the game. You can’t always get a seat right at the glass, so how can you get an “on the ice” experience when you’re hundreds of feet away from the action?
THE SOLUTION
By downloading the app På Isen, you can get that “on the ice” experience anywhere in the stadium. From the start through the very intense last goal, you are able to be in the game by viewing the passes, chases, and saves through the lens of your favorite player’s GoPro. You can track the score and the remaining time on the scoreboard screen. You can even interact with your fellow supporting fans through the social media facet of the app. Plus, by attending more games and interacting on social media you’re able to earn swag from your favorite team. No matter your team or your seat, you get the best immersive experience that bandy can offer with På Isen.
På Isen. Experience the game, get on the ice.
