Project: Jazzbones x Vodafone + Parent Zone Children's Books

“Be Strong Online” – Jazzbones team up with Vodafone and Parent Zone to create digital storybooks for children across Europe.
The Vodafone Foundation works with Parent Zone to produce Digital Parenting magazine, an online safety guide for families distributed through schools and youth organisations. The magazine features practical advice from teachers and online safety experts on subjects ranging from Virtual Reality to digital resilience and setting parental controls on apps.
Vodafone’s latest educational project is their most ambitious to date – and that’s where Jazzbones enter the story. Impressed by our track record producing bold designs using CGI illustration, the communications giant charged us with creating a digital storybook for children designed to promote the safe use of smartphones, tablets and other devices – one for Key Stage One of the national curriculum, the other for Key Stage Two.
Step forward Tommy the Tablet and Sally the Smartphone, the stars of two beautifully designed storybooks that will capture the imagination of schoolchildren, but not just in the UK. Vodafone were so impressed with Jazzbones’ work, the digital storybooks are now being distributed across Europe in eight different languages!
Our in-house CGI illustrators worked skilfully to create more than 30 eye-catching illustrations in a kaleidoscope of colours to accompany Vodafone’s tech characters as they navigate their way through the challenges and adventures of smartphone technology. The designs were part of a start to finish process for the Jazzbones team that embraced initial storyboards and CGI designs right through to sleek, informative videos being used by Vodafone at events in conjunction with their partners, ParentZone and The Diana Awards.
