Do you fear the dark, or are you more uneasy when placed in great heights? Maybe speaking before an audience gives you the jitters. How about insects or animals? Do they scare you the same way that bodies of water instill fear on others?
Whatever your fear may be, one thing is certain: everyone is afraid of something. We all experience it one time or another. For all living beings, including humans, the emotion of fear serves as a protective device.
A phobia can be defined as a special form of fear which is out of proportion to demands of the situation; cannot be explained or reasoned away; is beyond voluntary control, and; leads to avoidance of the feared situation.
Through the use of photography, the proponent aims to effectively visualize phobias in order to stimulate awareness and supplement information among millennials.
