Final study.
The colour red is emphasised to emulate the red barber's chair that appears in the film and to symbolise violence.
Blood is aligned with her eye to appear like a teardrop.
The method of stippling was used because we were challenged to make a back to basics, traditionally rendered movie poster. I thought of stippling in particular because I wanted the illustration to evoke an uncertain resolution that follows the film's outcome. Fun fact: Though the two films explore different themes, I was inspired by Saul Bass's poster studies for The Shining.
