This is a personal project that I had decided to do as I wanted to first of all create my own deck of cards but also move away from the traditional themes attached. I felt it was interesting to focus on Endangered animals to bring an awareness across about the decrease in numbers in a lot of animals today, and that's where the project "52 ON THE BRINK" came from, 'animals on the brink of extinction'. The four suits of clubs, spades, hearts and diamonds are labelled under the conservation statuses. The 52 selected have been categorised into  Critically Endangered - Hearts, Endangered - Spades, Vulnerable - Clubs and Near-Threatened - Diamonds. 

I decided adding the scientific name to the animals and also an population estimate found via WWF and IUCN Red list to help in my research. I think this helps as it is bringing an awareness to the certain animals who may only have a few hundred of their species left in the wild. 

My plan is to start a kickstarter project and see if I can actually bring this project to life. They would also be rounded and I would aim to get them professionally created if there was such interest of course. Either way was a fun but shocking project to tackle and research on.
