School Bus App - Android Mobile App
The scope of the involves the creation of two mobile applications to be used by Parents of students availing the school bus service and Drivers of school buses assigned by the school authority an admin portal to manage the entire school bus services through the app.
Parents App
Develop a school bus app to track the location & movement of school buses owned by the school authority for providing the real-time information on their school bus service to the children’s parents. Parents will have to input their Child’s name, Class (grade) and bus number assigned and the app will show information regarding the real-time position of the bus, trip start and end timing. The Application will use the GPS system to get real-time information on the location of the bus. Parents could track the location of the school bus in which their child is traveling on Google Map, receive alerts and notifications and can cancel pick up if their child is not availing the school bus service on a particular day.
Drivers App
Another App should be developed for the School Bus driver to update information on child boarding and deboarding location, as well as to send alerts to parents when the school bus leaves from school in the afternoon. The application should also send alerts to parent’s device in the morning when the bus reaches previous stop of the child’s boarding stop. The driver app will also show information regarding the Bus number he’s allotted to, route detail, students he needs to pick up and stop details.
Web Console
A web console for the school authorities to manage and monitor the school bus service and thereby deliver safe and quality service to the children. Through the web console, the admin should be able to assign devices to respective drivers, drivers to respective buses, children to buses and bus routes to each bus. Through the admin console, the user can send any news or broadcasts which have to be communicated to the application users. The App users will get this information on their apps.
The application is intended to provide a safe and secure feeling to the parents who are worried about sending their kids in school buses. With the development and implementation of this application, parents are able to track their child’s location and get timely alerts to ensure that their kid never misses the bus.
