for my last project at penn, i did five 2-page spreads of scenes from the musical wickedit was an exercise in character and scene design, and we worked and re-worked composition to try to best tell a story without using any text.

twas a very satisfying thing to end my undergrad with, and rather addicting to page through as a booklet when it was printed out and bound.

thanks to SO many great friends who took my barrage of screencaps and gave me their honest reactions to my choices. thanks to scotty reifsnyder for being a fantastic mentor and teacher throughout!

also thanks to the linear nature of time for forcing me to keep my drawings loose and my compositions economical woohoo
used my own face as a model for the very accurate duck lips
(george washington in-progress blooper shot, was still figuring out the face at this point)
everyone is better off with a hat

my favorite thing in this scene are the little shoes for glinda and elfie

tiny shoes!!
i know elfie has picked a totally ineffective hiding spot but i needed it for the composition

special thanks to adam for letting me know elfie looked evil until i painted in the eyes

also thanks to hand-drawn animation class for making me metifulcously draw 36 angles of my own hair in a bun during a head-rotation animation assignment so i could use it one semester later on elfie in this very spread
