A Better Way to Grill
Outdoor grilling is very popular in the Northwest in the summer since we don't have great whether most of the year so when we do we take advantage of it. I first developed the idea for this project when I went outdoor grilling at Skidmore Bluff's and the portable grill I was using hot so hot and I couldn't dump out the coals because there weren't any handles and I could close the lid because it was too hot to touch. So, I left the grill at the park. Hopefully it went to someone who needed a grill. We also had to make multiple trips from the car to our spot with bags, blankets, wine, and food. I knew there had to be a better way to use a portable grill.

This bag will fit a dual flat grill between the sizes of 14” x 22” x 5” because they are slim and rectangular shaped.
Ideation
In the beginning I thought I should redesign a grill, adding hooks to it, and adding storage. I realized that my solution should try to work for as many people as it could and having everyone buy a new grill was unreasonable. I started to think about a new way someone could transport a grill using some type of bag.
I planned out where I would put storage, how would the accessories and the grill be secured, how would you clean the bag, and how to protect yourself when the grill was still warm in the bag after use. This bag embodied Jeep's qualities immediately due to it's natural ruggedness, exposed functionality, and the strength the bag needed to have to support everything that goes in side it.
Creating the Grill Bag
Sewing and making my first backpack was difficult enough, then I had to learn how to sew heat resistant materials (that can't be sewn) so I had to find alternative ways to attach the materials like plumbing heat tape.
