The Catcher in the Rye Cover Design
For the midterms of my Typography class, we were tasked to redesign a book according to different styles and eras. The second book I chose was The Catcher in the Rye, which is a book I've loved since high school. I do not claim ownership over the book. All rights go to Back Bay books and JD Salinger.
First, I created a Classical design based on old-style books, drawing from Victorian-era aesthetics.
Second, I created a Modern design, like the kind of thing you would find in bookstores nowadays. I chose two important icons from the book to feature in the front and back covers.
