Being a young boy I was impressed by Alien from 1979 film and a creature called facehugger. When one of the characters in the film analyzes it under a microscope and tells about his amazing physiognomy, I knew that it would remain in my head for a very long time. After many years, the subject returned in the form of... celery. Properly illuminated and with a close approximation makes an irresistible impression of a mysterious facehugger ...;)
To give more intimacy and closeness, a dark background was used. To highlight the details, reflections and textures of the photographed object, a directional light with a warm color was chosen. Photographed object was the celery and my purpose was to keep the climate, colors (limited color palette, visible grain, shadows) and the atmosphere of unknown and mysterious facehugger.
