Anne-Sophie Mutter - Internationally Acclaimed Classical Violinist

Respected as a pianist and composer, Christopher (Chris) Roberts held responsibilities as president of Universal Music Group International for several years. Christopher Roberts’ management role with Universal Music Classics and Jazz included oversight of the Deutsche Grammophon, which maintained a roster of artists, including Claudio Abbado, Hélène Grimaud, and Anne-Sophie Mutter.

One of the world’s most respected violin virtuosos, Anne-Sophie Mutter had her debut four decades ago as a teenage prodigy at the Lucerne Festival. Over the years, she has premiered two dozen works by composers such as Sir André Previn, Witold Lutoslawski, and Sebastian Currier. She has performed with renowned companies such as the Vienna and New York Philharmonics. An early 2016 highlight was a London Philharmonic Orchestra tour of Europe under the direction of Robin Ticciati. 

Mutter’s recently recorded works include the Thomas Adès-conducted Brahms Violin Concerto with the London Symphony Orchestra. She also performed the Beethoven Triple Concerto at the Salzburg Easter Festival. Over the course of her career, Anne-Sophie Mutter has earned four Grammy Awards and undertaken numerous ambitious projects, including recordings of all of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s major violin pieces on the occasion of his 250th birthday.
