Over the years, I’ve developed quite the passion for all things homemade. Last year I decided that I wanted to try my hand at blogging about my recipes and kitchen adventures. Being a designer at heart, I had to brand everything.
I wanted to create a light, slightly feminine logo that hearkened back to the days of sign painting. The idea of home cooking is one that now seems a little antiquated, so why not create a logo to match?
In addition to the logo on the right, you’ll see the icon I created for use on Facebook and Wordpress.
I created the idea of Tasting Parties to generate interest in my blog. I invited several friends to join me in taste testing various recipes of chocolate cake - including a box mix. At the end of the evening, everyone got to take home a homemade cake mix with branded bag toppers. You can see the social media banners and bag toppers below.
Because blogging is so visual, I worked diligently to improve my photos and learn about best practices for food photography.
