Project: Wall 2
06-03 - 19-03

A follow-up from my previous project.
This time, we had to build our designs from the previous project in 3D and then paint over it.

So, with sadly quite some struggles and luckily some help, i started out with a render.
And this time, with more basic shapes as those were apparently more preferred in the previous project.
Very boring shot, but I can make this work!
So next step was to crop it to make it more interesting.
Then I added some basic colors, and the most important details.
In this case, the most important details would be the wooden structures that would keep the buildings up (in a reality).
The next step would be even more of the wooden structures to bind it together some more, but also some slight textures.
After this I played around with the general colors and added some details (read: clouds) in the sky.
I also defined the lightsource some more, and added some parts where the sun would touch.
For this project, I made the render in maya, and worked mostly in Paint tool Sai for the rest of it.
Except for the next step, for which I used Photoshop to add some more easy vegetation.
Ofcourse, this looked completely shit.
So I went back to Paint tool Sai, and edited it all to fit in more with the general theme and shading.
That was better.
But, I wasn't completely satisfied yet.
So I played around with the general tones, light and also extra colors again.
And ta-da!
Way better than the render I started out with, don't you think?
I especially enjoyed playing around with the colors to set the mood!
In the end, a nice practice.
