Goal

- My target audience is for the people applying for the Arts and Design Foundation Program at any given college for the purpose of pursuing a dream in the community of art, and how to overcome multiple obstacles along the way in your journey.
PAST

Who/What were your earliest creative influences and why were they so important to you?
My earliest creative influences were from reading comics, and watching anime as child up until now, as well as playing video games. They were significant factors in terms of my growth in the man I became, because I was so intrigued by the heroism attitudes, and the fiction lifestyles of made up characters. I am a huge fan of Akira Toriyama who is most notable known for creating Dragon Ball which is my favourite anime. Also, I'm a fan of Stan Lee who is known for Spiderman, Iron Man, the X-Men and etc.

Who/What stood in the way of your creativity and how did you prevail against them/it?
Truth to be told, the only one who was in my way was myself. After a while I realized that maybe focusing on my passion and ability to draw was to be taken more seriously.

What was your area of interest and why?
My area of interest is to draw cartoons and make comic strips out of some of my creations.

Which experiences, interests or knowledge from your earlier life prepared you for pursuit of your current area of interest?
From elementary school I would always go all out on titles pages, and as a hobby I would draw a lot on my spare time.

Which singular event in your past most affected your decision to pursue your area of interest?
When I realized I didn’t have a passion for anything else. Drawing is more than a hobby to me.

Who influenced or assisted you in pursuing your career ambitions, interests, or skill in this area?
My parents and cousins always complimented my work and encouraged me to take my talents into the real world and perhaps make a career out of it.
PRESENT

How have your interests affected your life as a whole (family, friends, where you live)?
My interests have affected my life by making me more open with family and a being able to express myself more freely.

How would you sum up your creative, artistic or design philosophy (ie. what is the role of creativity in your own life and in the life of humanity in general?)?
My philosophy is to add my own type of uniqueness into my work while still keeping it simple.

How has your time at school challenged you creatively?
My time at school challenged my creativity by showing me other types of styles and to personally try new things in order to help me grow.

Share a time when you enjoyed an epic win in an assignment at school and explain its importance.
My self-portrait was an enormous win for me, because I never thought I could do so well in terms of drawing portraits of real people that aren’t cartoons for once. I saw more potential in me after that assignment.

What has been the biggest highlight in the current pursuit of your interests?
The biggest highlight is how much I have improved and learned.
FUTURE

Where do you see yourself five years from now?
I see myself having a career in animation.

What are your next steps after finishing the foundation program?
To self teach myself at home with online courses, while still working and making an income.

What is the important lesson have you learned as a student so far this year?
To continue to focus on my passion in drawing, because I will definitely get better with more practice.

What advice would you give to someone considering entering a program aimed at a career in a creative field?
Whatever you may see as a hobby, such as drawing, computer work, or even photography, then try and pursue your career based on your respective fields and you might be able to make a career out of it.

If you could make a wish come true, what would it be?
To enjoy doing what I love for the rest of my life, earn enough income to be successful, happy and enough to take care of my loved ones.
Story Outline

Beginning
- talking about my issues in terms of what career path to choose
- reminiscing about how I used to draw a lot and enjoyed doing so

Middle
- trying to connect the dots
- first applied to Humber College for Architecture because I liked drawing
- didn't find success in architecture as it wasn't exactly what I was looking to do
- worked for a couple of years
- reconnected the dots, realized I wanted to pursue a career related to animation, because I loved cartoons
- I applied to George Brown College for Art & Design Foundation to help me improve on my skills and to learn more

Ending
- was content with the outcome with what I've learned so far
- plan to use the knowledge and skills I've learned for future purposes on animation-related programs
Conclusion

All in all, I feel that my journey hasn't reached its peak, as it is just beginning. Firstly, I am thankful for the people who care about me and those who encouraged me to pursue my passion in art. They saw what I had in me, and without them I may not be in the position that I am currently in today. Work hard, rest, but never stop. Those are the words I live by everyday and night, because I need to keep pushing myself in order to unleash the desire, strength, and will I have inside me. Running into roadblocks is only a part of your journey, and as long as your head is in the right place, then you'll be able to overcome any obstacle that comes your way. Be happy and achieve success doing what you love to do.
