The project was "Cookbook" for Typography II, in second year, first semester.
Emphasis on Typographic systems, creating a grid which allows the viewer to easily find their way around the text and follow the steps, and overall simple and effective visual flow was the emphasis of this cookbook. I chose to display two Romanian recipes, therefore I worked with the Romanian Typographic system. I focused on creating an even flow between the ingredients and how to prepare the dish, making sure it is something anyone can follow while cooking. The use of white space is crucial, since if it is too crowded, it will be too difficult to follow a recipe. I chose full bleed photos because of the bold look, and their contrast with the minimalist type system I created. The cover is a combination of a traditional Romanian pattern, and typography I created in Illustrator to mimic the pixelated style of the pattern.
