A personal photographic project that i started in the fall of 2016. The general conception of surfers is they that hang out in exotic environments, clad in board shorts. It's not a complete misconception, but i wanted to show that there is a group of surfers that actually enjoy throwing themselves into freezing water, close to the polar circle. I wanted to picture these surfers from a slightly different angle and not in the water catching waves. That's why i shot them out of the water in a neutral position in this harsh but beautiful environment.
