Six months after a devastating fire destroyed their original facility, River City Food Bank wanted to capture the hard work and support of the community that helped them survive (and thrive) during their most challenging time. They wanted to create a piece that would reflect on the tragedy, promote their programs and thank the volunteers that made progress possible. The goal was to distribute a booklet at their annual fundraiser, Empty Bowls, in hopes that it would drive more donations toward the on-going rebuild campaign.

Using a collage of photos, paper textures and food stickers, I created a scrapbook-inspired brochure to capture the hands-on, down-to-earth spirit of River City Food Bank. The size was designed in a way that would increase the longevity of the piece – allowing the food bank to continue distributing the piece by mail after Empty Bowls.
