METAMORPHOSIS
The book Metamorphosis was designed based on a suspense tale written by Rubia Sproesse. The story portrays Mrs. Aurélia’s life, a lonely elderly woman living in a house isolated from the rest of the city with her cat Carvão. Mystery begins when the sweet old lady takes a chance on a dangerous friendship.
The project design is composed with white, black and red colours. This creates a striking contrast during the reading, expressing the main story points. All illustrations were handmade with ink and afterwards digitalised. The more Mrs. Aurelia gets involved in the narrative, the more the predominante white in the book slowly becomes subordinate to the black ink. Each element of the object-book was created to take the reader on a journey.
