I initially designed this table with a CAD (computer aided design) program. When deigning the table, I intended to make something abstract as a table while still functional. My vision was that the right half would represent the skeletal structure of the piece while the left was the complete half. I then added a shelf to throw off the symmetry and provide functionality. There are cherry pieces that support the shelves. Structurally, most of the pieces are attached using biscuit joints in addition to screws on the joints that required the most strength. The screw holes were inlaid and filled with a piece of cherry wood.
