Stool II: Jon David Guerrero

Jon is a stool based off a time from my youth. When I was a child, my father was abusive. One day my mother kicked him out of the house and we left as well, just in case he were to come back while she was at work. The time was very stressful and frightening, we never knew where we would be even 5 or 10 minutes from the present moment. The piece is able to be taken apart in a moment’s notice and reassembled later with ease. Each of the respective parts are made exactly the same to allow for this even more. The stool is also a bit unstable and moves until the user sits on it and his weight is holding it firm, much how the situation was unstable and I had to keep myself strong. The overall form is structured and angular featuring a few round details. This represents the structure not present, but needed & yearned for, in a situation like this.
