A LIFE’S WORK
The Univers of Frutiger
Adrian Frutiger (24 May 1928 – 10 September 2015) was a
famous Swiss typeface designer, he enjoyed creating fonts,
playing with forms and making symbols.
As Adrian Frutiger says "we must first decipher the elements

which make up the shape of the letter”; I decided to use this
quote and turn it into a fun project that reflects the joy that
Adrian Frutiger had and felt when creating letters.
I created a board game that evolves around Adrian’s quote of
deciphered elements, where the viewer could be involved in
type and elements of type and at the same time learn about
Frutiger as a type designer.
I separated the elements of every letter and turned those letters
into puzzles this way players would get to build letters and feel
their forms; I also made question cards, those are used if a player
fails to build properly on the board the letters.
The game contains “What the font?” cards, the fonts used are
Frutiger’s fonts, this way players would get introduced to some
of the most famous fonts made by Frutiger.
Finally the golden cards which work as power ups cards that
offer the players bonus points or extra time.
The board is circular in reference to the universe, and the font "Univers" made by Frutiger
