This project was created from scratch, with an emphasis on a unique style, not using predefined templates or standard animation techniques, so the creation took more than 9 months. At the first stage, about 6 different storyboards were created. The starting point was the idea to tell a story about a character who walks around the city, encounters the dark essence of the city, which suppresses it.
The basis of the character was transferred from a real person. after the first concepts he began to shoot material - angles, movements, facial expressions.
At the third stage it became clear that the city itself in the video is as important an important character as the main character, and it requires careful consideration. The process of creating scenes changed direction to the first creation of locations, and then the angle with the character, suitable for the plot in this episode, was selected.
In the process of searching for material for the creation of a naturalistic city, more than 1000 different referrals, types of environment and details were collected. Various places were created that helped to feel the full scale of the big metropolis.
All the scenes were made in a vector and were originally created in a monochrome scale, for the successful transmission of the composition and the play of light and shadow. At the final stage of editing, more than one-third of the scenes were deleted, which helped improve the narrative and remove duplicates.
At the last stage, all the episodes were animated, acquired color, and the last additional effects were added. To create the effect of wet glass, special footage photos.
As a result, we received a unique live animation, conveying the gloomy atmosphere of the city, which gradually absorbs the main character.
