Interactive :: Ride The Rails

Ride the Rails
State approved educational tool (K-12)
 The goal of this project was to create a fun learning environment for the class room about the history of train travel in Washington state. The focus was on trains, types of people on the train, locations/ stops and things a rider might see and feel.

I was art director and flash builder on this project. I worked with the VP of Education for the Washington State History Museum, to create this interactive. The challenge was to make the archived content engaging while also meeting the state's requirements to make this an approved educational tool that can be used in a class room.

For this piece I created: Storyboards, user flows, wireframes, design mock-ups, graphics, actionscript. The flash was built so that all of the collateral could be easily replaced or edited without the use of flash.

Target Audience: When designing, we had to pick a focus audience since the learning level varies so vastly. So Grade 3-7 and their educators was chosen.
