Colorwave logo and CD cover
Colorwave is a Dutch over-the-limit-poppunk band consisting of five talented musicians. Their motto: "We are young. We are powerful. We are COLORWAVE!" In 2015 they released their first single and EP.
I started with the idea of using an icon in the logo, showing a wave, and combining it with the rest of the letters.
I used a round, bold font to match the shape of the wave and the hard poppunk music they make.
Later we decided that the font itself was enough, it already gave the right message, so we skipped the icon idea.

The band already had an idea for their CD cover. They made pictures of ink in water and asked me to pick out the nicest cloud, edit it and use it as a colorwave over the entire CD cover. It had to flow over nicely on all the six sides the cover contains, including the CD itself.
