Finally, trying to close the year with beautiful art and memories in my mind. It is good to remember what fulfill your heart (or liver) and make you happy. So many lessons, some few learned, but overall thankful of my family, friends, profession and of be alive.
Being bipolar and working on the dark room -usually when the mania is on the rise (but under control thanks to the medication)-, it's a struggle constant between the rush and emotion of create and create, and create and... the need to keep myself focused on each task and be careful in each step.
You can see a lot of it in my blog, some times the flood gates are open and I make a bunch of mistakes and other ones when I'm able of slow down a bit I'm able of obtain some niece pieces (in both cases I learn a lot).
For me the dark room is a therapy, a heaven and a bit of a purgatory.
In a world in which everything seems to be fast, transitory, in which many people thinks that to take or create photographs is simply make a click, it is beautiful to stop and to think the images, the motives, the paper, the chemistry, to take the time to work on the negatives, to make tests, to make mistakes, to learn while you create, and with a bit of luck and a lot of hard work finally produce a couple of images that you consider are good enough.
