Water is a major component of the human body. It took up 60% of an adult body and up to 75% of the children body. Hydration is an important part of childhood nutrition, however, children do not always recognise the early stages of thirst which can make them particularly vulnerable to becoming dehydrated.

It may be challenging to get children to drink enough water as most of them preferred the sweet taste of soda over the plain taste of water. However, these drinks dehydrate their body as well because our body needs water to digest these sugary drinks. It is important for children to cultivate the habit of drinking water since young, hence my project aims to help children cultivate the habit of drinking water, at the same time helping family conduct activities and spend quality time together.
My project is presented in a form of subscription box. Upon subscribing to the subscription box, a surprise box will be delivered to the family on monthly basis. A different theme will be released every month which contains different activities that aim to increase children’s awareness to environmental/societal concerns through easy-to-do projects.
Toward – A hydrating lifestyle

The first story (theme) is about hydration – water. The surprise box of the month aims to help children cultivate a healthy drinking habit by having them creating their own fruit infused drink. The content of the surprise box will not be disclosed in advance, hence, provide an element of surprise for the children.

As we all know that Singaporean has access to clean water, however, children in another country – Bagan, Myanmar, do not have such luxury. They do not have access to clean water and finding a viable source of water is a constant struggle. Hence this project not only helps local children to cultivate drinking habits, but also children in another country as well.
