The classroom project started off by choosing a target audience. Some people from the target audience were to be chosen and studied/analysed in detail. All the analysed information was put into each of their profiles to get a clear idea of their lives. Their profiles have in-detail information about their likes, dislikes, everything. I chose Fashion and lifestyle bloggers who celebrate life in all possible ways and have a very open approach towards life.

Above are the some of the client profiles made to study the target audience.

After studying a group of similar people, an overall segment analysis of the them was to be done to make comparisons and understand all the information about them. Which will then reflect in the design making.

To make the process of design making a little different and unique the studied client group was to be put into an imaginary scenario. The scenario should bring in vital changes in how the studied group would usually behave.

After creating a written scenario, a abstract visual board of it was also made to sort of make a mood/ inspiration board to take ahead the design process. This would give references to the type of patterns, colours and techniques to be used.

The technique I chose was Ikat. It very much helps to translate the patterned abstract-ness of the whole visual and mental mood.  It will help me create interesting visual compositions to translate the whole dreamy idea.

The moodboard and ikat technique were studied and a huge range of silhouettes were explored keeping in mind the target group, scenario, visual board and look. Out of them 8 designs were taken forward and refined giving all the details about placement of ikat, type of weave, yarn, price, etc.
