Licensed Products and Branding
I’ve designed and illustrated packaging, products and documentation for toy companies, movie studios, diamond mines, the defence forces, international sporting organisations, television production companies, children’s brands and a lot more.
The Challenge - With licensed products, the challenge lies in incorporating heavily protected artwork into an interesting, cohesive package that maintains the spirit of the original property. I also learned how to use style guides, work within copyright guidelines, and negotiate with corporate clients to get the optimum result. Attending copyright & trademark law seminars came in handy here.
