This project was developed through the use of Adobe's Illustrator application as part of a tutorial. Setting a photograph of one of my colleagues as a background template, I then proceeded to create small triangular shapes that built up the structure of the face. After this long and laborious task I then simply used the colour picker tool to color each of the triangular shapes according to the values found under that shape on the photograph.
Then adding a simple gradient background based on key colours found in the image, I was able to produce a very nice effect for this custom portrait that is a little more interesting then a simple photograph.
