In this issue readers will find a feature on the winners of this years Red Dot Award, as well as great editorial design projects by Raquel Rei from Portugal. We present Onogrit from Cologne, the Polish creatives of Punkt Widzenia and the German studio Frau. This months novum+ focuses on »wayfinding«. Find out more about small and large orientation systems that teach a lot about flexibility and creativity. The studios we present are: Greco Design (BRA), Makebardo (NLZ), das Mainstudio (NLD), 22Quadrat (GER), Holmes Wood (GBR) sowie Des Signes (FRA).

For the cover of this issue we used the uncoated paper Pergraphica Rough by Mondi in High White, 300 gsm. Paper samples available at Papier Union (musterservice@papierunion.de).
The design of the cover
Sometimes you can't see the wood for the trees – unfortunately that quite often applies to way-finding systems too. Hundreds of signs, arrows and markings, the only thing you can't find is the thing you are looking for. The French design studio Des Signes interpreted this nuisance in a humorous way and used bold colors and a shimmering silver (Pantone 877) to create a strong design.
