I was asked to illustrate the discussion about 'utopian ideas in architecture' for RA Magazine, the magazine of The Royal Academy of Arts. For each issue two writers respond from opposing points of view to a question about art or architecture. For this issue's ‘Are utopian ideas good for architecture’ I wanted to show a montage of modernist architectural depictions of utopia. I studied architects of the early-20th century, like Antonio Sant'Elia, Le Corbusier and Frank Lloyd Wright. Then I grouped several modernist buildings to make one architectural object.
