While working as an intern at St. Gregory Group, in Cincinnati, Ohio, I had the opportunity to create this illustration for an advertising campaign. The company was in the process of trying to acquire a brewing company as a client. Instead of using standard ads, my art director wanted to create branded items often associated with brewing and beer. For the beer bottle, I was asked to illustrate the namesake of the company, St. Gregory, a saint who helped to solidly establish Christianity in Armenia. The style we selected was based on poster illustrations by Michael Schwab. (michaelschwab.com)
The final illustration was placed on a beer label that included statements about St. Gregory as a company. Additional branding done by the design team included a six-pack case and other beer accessories.
