In 2012, a new market of drones began to appear. The availability of drones to a general consumer was rising, but the prices were way too high for me. So through research and experiments, I made my own drone from scratch. The creation of this drone was a large factor in the development of Pacific Northwest Copters.
The flight control board is Arduino based and was programmed by me including the tuning of PID control loops and basic flight stabilization. Then I further went on to implement fully autonomous flight through checkpoints placed by the user on the computer while the copter is in flight.
