Project Area: 2000 sqm
It seems that there is an increase of people whowant to practice this extreme sport, but there are no suitable spaces in thearea for this type of activity
We must have specialized buildings that can replace improvised structures, thatmeet the needs of the sport in question: training rooms, spaces that can accommodateguests and in which can be organized competitions.
Climbers are guided by values that are different from those of ordinary people. They prefer the show offered by nature (like living temporarily in a tent with own resources) at the expense ofpersonal comfort, preferring a lifestyle in which they test their very limitsof endurance and defeat their fear of heights.
The complex is situated near Brasov county, easily accessible being in the central area of the country, near the town ofZarnesti, in the northern massif of Piatra Craiului, place named PrapastiileZarnestilor;a tourism route of 3.5 km long during which you can meet severalareas for practicing climbing.
Access can be made by car on a paved forest road 6 km long from downtown to thebarrier that stops access for cars. From here there is 800 m to the site.
The building is located on the first larger area that has hiking trails.
Because the mountain is a very personal presencein the activity of the climber I proposed that the development of the buildingwill follow the slope line both horizontally and vertically so that themountain, the main element, would be a dominant presence in all the aspects ofthe building (the rock is present both in outside and inside), the project buildingis subordinating itself and expanding around the natural area with hikingtrails.

The main body has 3 levels and contains: themain access, space for equipment renting,a dining room that can accommodate 25 people, locker rooms and a interiortraining hall that is adjacent to the external climbing wall and operates allyear round.
2nd floor bridge connects the main body with a multi-purpose hall that can beused for conference or in the arbitration of different contests. The bridge isalso a structure support point for the membrane that is used in weatherprotection and can prolong the season for practicing this sport.
The sleeping area is meant to be an extreme camping space, rotated vertically, built on the rock surface that takes advantage of surrounding height and offersa great view. There is a type of accommodation used as a refuge-module used forrecreation. Their irregular shape is inspired by the shape of huts in the near alpineridge crests.
The higher structure can be accessed in two ways. It reprezents the hikingtrail end point and a space for relaxing or it can be a destination fortourists who can get here by ladder or elevator which connects all levels ofthe accommodation.
