Part of a series of illustrations of widely liked people, these portraits are meant to bring to attention how much needless importance we give to things like hairstyles and other aesthetic choices. 

Would the ideas of people like Gandhi or Martin Luther King have been less noble if they had mohawks? What about face tattoos? Or piercings? I contend not - but I also think that they would definitely have been perceived differently.
